My Ode to Pinterest

I love Pinterest. I usually spend about an hour each evening, kicking back on the sofa, looking through pinterest  I've found so many amazing recipes, craft ideas, home decor, fashion - you name it. But every once in awhile I come across a pin that just .. isn't a good idea. Some of the pins I see are just flat out false, some are unproven, some are dangerous  and some just leave me wondering why it was pinned in the first place. I'm not talking about the weight loss spam or work at home scams, but a lot of them I see are pinned repeated over and over again, even though they really shouldn't be.

The point of this blog isn't to make fun of people. I'm not mean, I'm not doing this to be mean, I just have to wonder sometimes if anyone else is as confused as I am, about the bad idea pins we see day in and day out. After sharing quite a few of the pins on facebook, I was told maybe someone (being me) should start a blog dedicated to all the bad ideas we see on pinterest.

  1. Love the blog, I read the whole thing in one evening! SOOO many responses to pins I have told people not to pin... I'm "that person" on forums who reposts the same "here's the real science behind that, and why you shouldn't do it" paragraph on every question about something pretty (IMO) common sense.

speaking of which, I just learned why ionic hair dryers are better than non-ionic. I thought it was just a fancy word they threw on the box to sell more, because ions don't do anything to hair, right? I was wrong! There is a piece of metal inside the dryer that discharges the air as it passes through the barrel, reducing static caused by molecules rubbing together... and leaving you with smoother hair. Not related to anything "no don't pin that" wise, but I just had to share that with someone who might appreciate a little science
